W INTERVIEW L AN INTERVIEW WITH KYLE DISLEY, COPELAND GROUP SERVICES With burglar crime on the rise, we talk to Kyle Disley, Managing Director of Wirral-based Copeland Group Services about the different security options available and how you can secure your home and business. What do Copeland Group Services do? We are one of the largest mobile patrol and response specialists in the North West. Our 24 hour National Support Centre co- ordinates our fleet of highly visible vehicles that are all equipped with the latest GPS tracking technology, GuardTour system and on-board CCTV. How did Copeland Group Services start? I founded the company back in 2004 with the aim of filling a market need for quality keyholding and alarm response services backed by a team of highly qualified ex-military security staff and door supervisors across Merseyside. Despite a steady growth the decision was made in 2013 to expand Copeland into a group organisation to better support our clients with a complete turn- key solution of CCTV and Facilities Management services. The companies head office and 24 Hour National Support Centre still remains in Merseyside with a regional office added in Manchester. Further offices are planned for Leeds and London to reach out across the UK and support client requirements Nationally. What are the biggest changes that you have seen in security over the recent years? I would say technology advancements like in all areas of business. CCTV security has now become more advanced and is the preferred security solution for the more savvy business and home owners. Although some businesses cannot move away from security guards, in some circumstances, CCTV can replace guards, provide a better security solution and is proven to cost up to 70% less. Do you think burglar alarms are ignored nowadays? The majority of people ignore burglar alarms because of too many false alarms or they expect someone else to sort the problem out. We offer a 24 hour alarm response, where we are 64 wirrallife.com placed as a dialler on the alarm and will send a response officer out to the property if the alarm goes off. It's the perfect solution for every day security, or if you are away from the property on holiday etc. It's great value and only costs £1 a day. You may also get reduced home insurance with this service. What is your most popular security product at the moment? I would say our SiteWatch package. For a fixed fee we provide 24/7 CCTV monitoring by our National Support Centre, keyholding and response. This package has exceeded all of our expectations. Why has SiteWatch exceeded expectations? SiteWatch was initially aimed at the commercial sector. We found more and more homeowners began to ask us for keyholding and response then added CCTV monitoring. It made sense to offer SiteWatch to homeowners. The Police are not the quickest at responding to burglary's, and sometimes the Police arrive after the burglary has taken place. Private security gives clients peace of mind. Is crime on the rise? I know knife crime seems like a daily topic in the news these days. I wouldn't hesitate to have my home and property protected with a security solution, rather than simply rely on the Police. The Police are very busy these days and I am not sure how high theft and burglary is on the priority list. Crime is something that we should all be conscious of, when you become complacent you become an easy target. What is the future for Copeland Group Services? I have plans to expand Copeland across the whole of the UK. I hope to see Copeland providing for security services and facilities management nationally. We are currently working on some big projects.
