GREEN LIGHT FOR TRANMERE BEER GARDEN AS PLANNING PERMISSION IS RECEIVED
Our inside man at Tranmere Rovers , Associate Director , Martyn Best reports …
Christmas came slightly early for Tranmere fans , and in fact anyone on the Wirral and beyond who has shown interest in the very exciting venue that is bubbling under at Tranmere Rovers .
The gift came in the shape of formal planning permission being granted for the space-age Beer Garden and the partnership of Tranmere Rovers Trust and German Kraft Beer are now in a position to start the build of this amazing design for not just a football fan park , but one of the most exciting all-round venues to be built on the Wirral .
Wirral residents will have been aware of this project , as previously reported in Wirral Life in the summer , as the club , the Trust and the family-owned German brewery began a collaboration to create a breath-taking venue combining a stunning design with an integrated brewery . Their ambition is to create what we expect will soon become one of the most popular venues not just on the Wirral , but throughout the Liverpool City Region .
Ben Harrison of the Tranmere Rovers Trust was delighted with the planning news : “ A huge debt of thanks is due to so many people who have supported our fundraising efforts , and this was fantastic news to receive just before Christmas .
“ The combination of the club , the fans and German Kraft Beer has been an exciting one since we started working together last year , and this now means that we can start to complete the final stage of funding that we need to underwrite this £ 1.7m project .
“ We have already raised and received commitments for about £ 1.5m , and the Trust has just launched a 5 year Bond to raise the final £ 200,000 . We are now completing the outline of the final construction costs and expect to be placing orders soon . Clearly everyone is really excited and the big question I receive is asking about a launch date . We have very lightly pencilled in somewhere before the start of the next football season , hopefully during the summer , and I can assure everyone that we all want it to be as soon as possible .”
Here at Wirral Life , we are particularly interested in the opening date , as we would dearly love for it to coincide with our next Annual Awards event .
