THE PAUL LAVELLE FOUNDATION
The Paul Lavelle Foundation (PLF) celebrated
another fantastic year of events with a black tie
dinner at the Leasowe Castle Hotel.
The Trusties of the charity formed in memory of
Paul Lavelle provides support services associated
with domestic abuse against men.
The new support centre and 'Princes Room' was
opened in Birkenhead earlier this year by former
Everton FC star Neville Southall.
The evening celebrated the huge community
support from various groups including: Venture
Boxing Club, Thorburn Court, Sharne Williams
& Kirsty Bullard. Other events included: PLF
Golf Day, John Hammond solo LEJOG run, Andy
Jones Snowdon Challenge, Total Fitness cycle
challenge, Dave Sands Base Camp, Liverpool
March of the MODS and the PLF 10K.
Individual mentions were made for the efforts and
achievements of Sean Boyle, Colette Gladwell,
Chris Malley, Glenavon Youth, Chris Shaw & the
Red Caps, Audra Duncan, Dave Walters, Mark
Lennon, Karen Gladwell, Jason Williams, Martin
Pritchard Howarth, Liam Hanlon & the tri-4-life
team.
The highlight of the evening was the premier film
showing of LEJOG, the PLF 960 mile Land’s End
to John O’Groats cycle Challenge.
A team of 32 PLF family and friends completed
this epic ride whilst linking communities in all
major cities with their fundraising & awareness
raising messages. The event raised £20,000 for
Claire House and the Paul Lavelle Foundation.
Event organiser Steve McHugh and the PLF team
wishes to thank everyone for their support this
year no matter how big or small.
