IN BRIEF

SONOX BRINGS NEW CLEANING TECHNOLOGY TO THE WIRRAL
A new cleaning technology is emerging from the Wirral, with ambitions to change the way businesses care for the tools and equipment they use every day. SonoX has been created by local entrepreneur and inventor Jonathan James Quinn as a compact, rechargeable ultrasonic processor designed to provide targeted cleaning through interchangeable application heads.
Designed and made on the Wirral, SonoX is described by Jonathan as the world’ s first genuinely portable ultrasonic processor. Rather than relying solely on cloths and cleaning chemicals, the system uses controlled ultrasonic energy through a matched contact surface or wet interface, helping to loosen residue from areas that can be difficult to reach.
The technology has been developed with adaptability in mind. Potential applications range from coffee steam wands, beer taps and beverage equipment to makeup brushes, watches, jewellery, reusable drinkware and salon tools. The concept centres around a single compact power unit, supported by interchangeable heads designed for different cleaning requirements. SonoX aims to offer businesses a more consistent cleaning process while helping to reduce reliance on disposable wipes, cloths and some traditional cleaning products. Future healthcare and medical applications would require appropriate material, safety and regulatory testing, but the wider potential spans a broad range of professional environments.
One of the first businesses to explore SonoX is Revitalaser, the Medical Skin Spa in Heswall. Introducing the technology into a professional treatment environment provides an opportunity to demonstrate how the system could support businesses where cleanliness, presentation and efficient working practices are particularly important.
For Jonathan, SonoX represents more than simply creating a new piece of equipment. The project reflects a local approach to innovation, beginning with a practical problem and developing a more adaptable way of addressing it. From Wirral workshops to coffee counters, salons and professional treatment environments, SonoX is beginning to explore how portable ultrasonic technology could become part of everyday cleaning routines. Developed locally but with ambitions that extend much further, it is another example of innovation taking shape here on the Wirral.
ALL IN FOR FIN
A local fundraising campaign is bringing together families, friends, businesses and the wider community to support a young boy living with a rare and serious heart condition.
Fin has Ebstein’ s anomaly, a congenital heart condition that affects the way the heart functions. His family are raising funds to give him the opportunity to access specialist heart surgery in America, with the hope of giving him the best possible chance for the future.
The campaign, All In For Fin, has already received an incredible response from across the region, with individuals and local businesses helping to raise money, organise events and share Fin’ s story. Comedian Peter Kay has also shown his support, helping to bring wider attention to the campaign, while Fin and his family recently appeared on ITV Granada Reports to talk about their journey and the fundraising effort. One of the biggest events in the campaign calendar is the All In For Fin Charity Ball, taking place on 10 October at the Titanic Hotel at Stanley Dock in Liverpool. The evening will bring supporters together for a three course meal, entertainment from singer Gary Barker, a silent auction and further fundraising throughout the night.
Businesses are being encouraged to get involved through sponsorship, event packages and donations of prizes or services for the auction. Supporters behind the campaign hope the Ball will not only raise significant funds towards Fin’ s treatment, but also continue building the sense of community that has surrounded the family since the appeal began. Fundraising efforts have also extended well beyond the ballroom. Supporters have taken on physical challenges and organised events to help push the campaign towards its target, with individuals giving their time, energy and support in whatever way they can. Donations can also be made directly through Fin’ s GoFundMe page.
At the heart of All In For Fin is a family doing everything possible to create more options for their little boy, supported by a community determined to stand alongside them. Every ticket sold, prize donated, challenge completed and contribution made helps move the campaign another step forward. The support already shown to Fin and his family demonstrates what can happen when a community comes together behind one cause. Organisers are now encouraging even more local businesses and individuals to get involved, whether through sponsorship, attending the Charity Ball, donating to the appeal or simply helping to share Fin’ s story. Further information about Fin, upcoming fundraising events and ways to support the campaign can be found at allinforfin. co. uk.
