This month, the spotlight falls on the Specialist Auctions for Silver, Jewellery, Watches and Coins. Always popular, these lively sales attract private buyers from across the North West and beyond, whether they’ re searching for a special gift or the perfect piece to complete a collection.
The Jewellery auctions feature everything from vintage treasures to modern design pieces. Highlights have included a late Victorian diamond-set starburst brooch, which sold for £ 8,000, and a striking De Vroomen gold, diamond and emerald ring, which realised £ 5,800. This piece perfectly encapsulates Leo and Ginnie De Vroomen’ s design philosophy that,“ however exciting visually, jewellery must also feel wonderful and function perfectly if it is to be worn with pleasure.”
Silver and Coins always accompany jewellery in our Specialist Auctions which are held every five weeks at The Liverpool Saleroom. Our national and international client base continues to grown, ensuring strong bidding and exceptional prices for our vendors.
Recent successes include a George IV hallmarked silver table centre by Richard Sibley I sold for £ 7,000, a George III hallmarked silver-gilt stirrup cup, modelled as a fox head sold for £ 5,000, and a rare 1893 gold and silver specimen coin set, £ 5 to 3d which sold for an amazing hammer price of £ 40,000.
The Specialist Watch auctions include prestige examples and boutique names which regularly sell exceptionally well in the auctions with jewellery, coins and silver. A recent highlight being a Patek Philippe gentleman’ s stainless steel Nautilus Moonphase wristwatch sold for a hammer price of £ 69,000.
