MEET ADAM PARTRIDGE AUCTIONEERS & VALUERS
Auctioneer and television personality Adam Partridge operates four auction rooms across the country: The Cheshire Saleroom in Macclesfield( our operational HQ), The London Saleroom in Ruislip, managed by Adam’ s eldest son Ridley Partridge, The Devon Saleroom in Hele, and The Liverpool Saleroom, located in the beating heart of the Baltic Triangle.
“ Liverpool is a wonderfully welcoming and hospitable city, and her residents never fail to turn a dull grey day into a bright, colourful one,” comments Adam.“ The team and I at the Jordan Street Saleroom combine our specialist expertise and extensive experience to provide Liverpool’ s residents— and those from across Lancashire, the Wirral, and Cheshire— with the best possible advice, service, and experience, whether they’ re seasoned buyers or first-time auction participants.”
This month, we shine a light on our Specialist Toys and Wines & Spirits Auctions, two hugely popular events held twice a year. At first glance, it might seem unusual to include both departments in the same sale, but it works— and the cross-pollination of buyers and enthusiasts creates a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
The Toy Auctions feature the classics you might expect— Dinky, Corgi and other die-cast vehicles, teddy bears, games, soldiers, tinplate clockwork, automata, and 19th-century porcelain and bisque dolls. They also embrace increasingly popular categories of more recent juvenilia, such as Action Man figures, which first arrived on UK toy shop shelves in 1966. The group illustrated above sold in a recent auction and was hotly contested to £ 740.
These auctions also include larger live steam and scale model items, such as a‘ Maid of Kent’ 5” gauge locomotive and tender, which sold for £ 2,550, and a scratch-built live steam engine, which realised £ 1,400— both illustrated above.
Our Specialist Wines & Spirits Auctions are held twice annually, in early summer and— perhaps unsurprisingly— in December. These sales include rare single and blended malts for whisky and whiskey connoisseurs, as well as other spirits, champagnes, red and white wines, and rare ports. Recent highlights include six bottles of La Tâche Monopole 1994 Appellation La Tâche Contrôlée, which sold for £ 9,600, and a single bottle of A. H. Hirsch Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey, which achieved £ 1,500.
The Liverpool Saleroom has had a strong start to 2025, and with seven further auctions scheduled throughout the year— including Militaria, Maritime, Photographic, Silver, Jewellery, Watches, Coins, Furniture, and Fine Art— it promises to be a busy and exciting year ahead. At Adam Partridge Auctioneers & Valuers, our experienced team is dedicated to making the selling process straightforward and stress free, guiding you every step of the way. Getting started is easy- simply send photos of your items via WhatsApp or email- or visit The Liverpool Saleroom during our free valuation days every Monday( no appointment needed). Valuations are also available Tuesday to Friday by appointment. Our friendly, expert advice includes personalised recommendations on the best auction for your collection or individual items. We pride ourselves on flexibility and a bespoke approach for every customer. When you consign items with us, a comprehensive receipt is created for you, listing all of your items, complete with agreed estimates and reserves. Throughout the auction process, we keep you updated at key stages, confirming descriptions, estimates, auction dates, sold prices and payment details, so you are always in the loop, while we showcase your item or collection to a global audience, ensuring maximum exposure.
Buying at auction has never been easier, you can bid in person from our lively saleroom or from the comfort of your own home- cup of tea and biscuit in hand— alongside a global audience.
