MAXI ROY‘ NOBLE ART’ MEMORIAL BOXING TOURNAMENT
The Shankly Hotel Liverpool was the stunning venue for the 10th Annual Maxi Roy‘ Noble Art’ Memorial Boxing Tournament hosted by Wallasey Amateur Boxing Club on Friday 4th April.
The historic rooftop location and grand scenic setting lent itself to the formal back tie charity sporting event. The evening of remembrance & friendship was opened with a sobering rendition of the last post played under the standard of the Special Boat Service Association. Special tribute was paid to the memory of our dear coach, mentor & friend Terry Finlay who passed away in September 2024.
As always the quality of boxing was outstanding and the atmosphere nerve tingling as eleven contests of the highest calibre entertained an enthusiastic audience. All boxers displaying outstanding skills determination, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
The Maxi Roy‘ Noble Art’ Best Boxer of the evening was presented to Sonny Lyons by the Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside Mark Blundell and Jodie Kay, Maxi Roy’ s Granddaughter. The event was sponsored by Bathgate Corporate Finance Solutions, Gallagher Insurance Brokers & Peninsula Travel Wirral Ltd.
