STEPPING UP TO THE CHALLENGE OF LEARNING TO DANCE STRICTLY-STYLE
Some intrepid supporters of cerebral palsy charity Stick ‘ n ’ Step stepped up to the challenge of learning to dance in order to take part in a special ' Strictly Come Dancing ' themed fundraising event at Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa , Neston , on Saturday 16th November .
The eight contestants were each paired with a professional dancer and chose a song and a dance with which to impress the panel of judges on the night and to compete for the winner ’ s glitter ball trophy .
As well as the dance competition , over 260 guests enjoyed a drinks reception and a three-course meal before watching the stunning dancers strut their stuff . An auction and a raffle helped boost fundraising further , with over £ 45,000 raised . Donations to support fundraising included a stunning diamond pendant worth £ 2,000 , generously donated by Jan Foley of Hallmark Jewellers Heswall . The event was kindly sponsored by Beyond Clinics .
Stick ‘ n ’ Step provides free conductive education sessions at its Wallasey and Runcorn centres to over 100 children and young people with cerebral palsy , allowing them to gain the skills they need to live more independent lives .
