KITE MADNESS !
When they made me Cultural Ambassador of Wirral I got invited to all sorts of weird and wonderful happenings . This one was in New Brighton on the Wirral with people flying hundreds of amazing kites , including a giant whale , a giant octopus and a giant , top hatted man on stilts !

Victoria and David weren ' t sure about their fab pics being taken on the Live 8 stage , July 2nd 2005 , but the joyous Ian ' Gandalf the White ' McKellen insisted that I should record the monumental occasion of the Fab 3 for posterity .

Another of my favourite 60 ' s images , with the boys having just finished supporting Little Richard or Jerry Lee Lewis at the Tower Ballroom , New Brighton ... hence our kid topless . I ' d been photographing Hilbre Island off the Wirral for its wildlife , seals , etc ... and I was heading back to West Kirby , when this colourful boat suddenly exploded up to heaven ... like a rainbow !

I captured the magic moment of brother Paul and John rehearsing ' I Saw Her Standing There ' written in Paul ' s school book on the floor ( with off-cuts of carpet bought by our Aunties to hide the hole in the main carpet ... worn away by our shoes .)
