Birkenhead School in Oxton , Wirral , has been named as Independent Secondary School of the Year in the North West by The Sunday Times in the 32nd edition of its Parent Power Guide 2025 . The prestigious guide highlights the highestachieving schools nationwide , assessing them on a range of criteria , including GCSE and A-Level performance .
Widely regarded as the authoritative survey of the UK ’ s top schools , Parent Power serves as the definitive ranking of primary and secondary state and independent schools . Birkenhead School has achieved an outstanding position , ranking 81st among the top independent schools nationally , with 67th place for GCSE results and 101st for A-Level performance .
