LEAR HOUSE RESIDENTS ENJOY A SUMMER OF FUN !
Residents at Lear House have had a busy couple of months with lots of different activities and fun things to do !
Aisla Wright , manager at Abbeyfield , said : " In June we held our annual Open Afternoon in the garden . We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed an afternoon of live music , cake and drinks with family and friends . Everyone had a great time singing along to a wide range of songs and there was even some dancing on the patio too !
" On the few days when it ’ s been warm and dry enough , we have sat out in the garden and enjoyed music , quizzes and ice cream . It ’ s a lovely , peaceful place to spend time and we ’ re hoping the weather in August will allow us to get out there even more !
" We have monthly visits from Jenna who runs Boogie Woogie Music and she brought the seaside to us recently with an afternoon of themed activities including hook-a-duck and some fun summer accessories for us to wear !
" Looking ahead to Christmas we are knitting teddy bears to be included in the Christmas Shoeboxes which are sent overseas . We have also made little purses and handbags to go in the boxes . It ’ s lovely to think of the difference that this will make to people opening the boxes and it ’ s a wonderful thing for our residents to be part of ."
