MAYOR ' S ASCOT CHARITY LUNCH
The month of June saw an exciting , vibrant event at Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa , co-ordinated by the Mayor ’ s Charity Committee for the Wirral . Attended by more than 100 local business people , Councillors and Wirral residents , the Lunch At Ascot Races event raised vital funds for Incubabies , the Blind Sailing School , and various other local charities .
Hosted by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral , the fun-packed day ’ s purpose was to support local organisations of community benefit and was attended by many known individuals including the Dame Lorna Muirhead ( Patron of Incubabies ), as well as the Lord Mayor of Chester , Mayor of Sefton , and the Deputy Lieutenant Billy Hui .
Incubabies has been working tirelessly to provide critical support services to neonatal babies and sick children since 2017 , supporting the lifesaving and life-changing work undertaken by Arrowe Park hospital . In addition , the charity has also contributed financially to groundbreaking research being conducted by the Liverpool Women ’ s and Alderhey Surgical Unit which will benefit neonatal and unwell babies at Arrowe Park hospital as well as other hospitals around the world .
The Blind Sailing School , based in Tranmere , aims to give people with visual impairments the opportunity to sail and how to sail . The organisation provides a highly valuable service to young people and adults alike , and they ’ re looking to expand further with a view to positively impacting the lives of more visually impaired people across the Wirral .
