BY KATE KINGSTON

WHATS NEW ?
Well now you ask . I can tell you that the world of interiors has had a glow up and this year ’ s trends are both surprising and delightful . So let ’ s get into it !
1 . Colour
Thank goodness we are allowed colour back into our houses . The official colour of the year is Peach Fuzz and this designer is not fuzzed !! However , if you are going to use it , then maybe an accessory or two or if on a wall pair it with a grey !
3 . Biophilic Design
Again , this is not a new idea in interior design but it is a trend that is gathering momentum this year and is attainable for everyone . Biophilic Design is the incorporation of nature into our living spaces . Indoor gardens , living walls all making a statement this year along with the use of natural stone and natural textures like bark and cork on the walls .

4 . Dark Wood Furniture

In 2024 there has been an increase in the number of furniture ranges available in dark woods and it is no surprise ! Multi use spaces benefit from darker furniture as they provide focal points and remain timeless therefore also more sustainable . If you are in to recycling and upscaling , then there is a plethora of brown furniture for sale at auction which with a bit of love can be a fabulous piece and investment . Dark furniture also compliments the biophilic trend along with the colour trend !

2 . Sustainability
Always on trend but this year the focus is on making environmentally conscious choices , from the materials used in construction to the appliances and fixtures installed in the house . Homeowners and businesses are collectively helping the environment by choosing their products wisely and keeping an eye on how and when things are delivered . The biggest trend we have seen is for Kinetic art installations , which both beautify your space and could illuminates itself .
