RESIDENTS AT LEAR HOUSE ENJOY A BUSY DECEMBER
Residents at Lear House in West Kirby enjoyed a busy December with a wide variety of activities and visitors .
Ailsa Wright , manager at Abbeyfield said : " We took part in the Christmas Tree Festival at St Hildeburgh ’ s Church in Hoylake with our hand knitted Christmas decorations including our very own knitted Christmas lunch ! All of the items on and under the tree were made by our residents in our weekly Knit and Natter Group . We also enjoyed making some Christmas decorations for the lounge window .
" Residents also took part in a Silk Flower Workshop with Liz from Flowers By Elizabeth and made some beautiful Christmas floral arrangements .
" We were joined by family and friends for our Carol Service . It was a lovely afternoon with lots of singing and the chance to get together afterwards with mulled wine and mince pies .
" During the month we had several visits from St Agnes Pre- School including our own special performance of their nativity play . Everyone loved seeing the children dressed in their costumes and listening to their singing .
" We had a visiting performance of Cinderella which we all enjoyed . Our other activities during the month included a visit from the Deeside Singers , a visit from the Marine Place Scribes , lots of music , our Shared Reading Group , Christmas themed French sessions , visits from our wonderful therapy dog and of course our Christmas party which included an early Christmas lunch .
" There are lots of things to look forward to in 2024 and we already have a busy January planned !"
