The rugby season has kicked off for the new season and once again , Bathgate are Caldy RFC ’ s proud 1st XV Shirt sponsors .
Bathgate Group has sponsored the RFU Championship team for more than a decade now , with company owner and chairman , Rod Walker , and Bathgate Business Finance Managing Director , Gordon Andrews , both being ex-players for the team , and Rod also having previously served as President of the club .
As well as being one of the club ’ s main sponsors , Bathgate Business Finance has also supported the team as a client in the past to secure finance for kitchen equipment in the clubhouse and continues to offer financial support and advice .
Bathgate Business Finance MD , Gordon Andrews , said : “ Our business is rooted in the Wirral community and supporting and celebrating Caldy ’ s success , as our local team , recognises the importance of sport ’ s role in uniting that community .
“ I have fond memories of playing in the 1st XV in the 80s and 90s and latterly the infamous ‘ Dream Team ’ until 2008 , so it ’ s an even greater honour to support and share this journey as a past player of the club and like many I am extremely excited to see what the new season brings .”
