RESIDENTS AT LEAR HOUSE HAVE ENJOYED A BUSY SUMMER WITH LOTS GOING ON
Wirral Life caught up with Ailsa Wright , manager at Abbeyfield in West Kirby , to find out what their residents had been up to over the last few months .
Ailsa said : " We hosted an Open House afternoon for family and friends and proved that no one can organise a party quite like us ! There was live music from the wonderful Mark Birch with a range of music across the decades and the chance to request our favourite songs . Everyone joined in with the singing and there was lots of dancing too ! There was a glass of fizz for us all and delicious sandwiches and cakes . It was a fabulous afternoon enjoyed by everyone .
" Each week we have a Knit and Natter session with Heather and lots of our residents are keen knitters . We have been knitting squares to be made into blankets for charities and also items to be put into Christmas shoeboxes . Our most recent venture is a range of knitted insects ! Of course we enjoy nattering too and Heather always has a topic for us to talk about .
" We have also enjoyed our regular music performances , an art therapy session from local sixth formers , our Shared Reading Group , French lessons and lots more activities ."
