SLOW & DOUGH - OXTON by Si Hall
We ’ ve kept a keen eye on the progress of Low Slow and Dough over the past 5 years , from Mexican street food vendor at Woodside Ferry Village , to the more American influenced delights at Cains Brewery Village and latterly , Love Lane Brewery , amongst others .
Through the trials and tribulations of Covid lockdowns , owner Ian Marray has shown an unwavering commitment to his brand , along with a passion for creating delicious food and a belief in good old fashioned hospitality . Ian and his team have steadily built a reputation for exceptionally tasty ‘ Tex-Mex ’ food , humble in origin , but somehow elevated to a truly gourmet eating experience .
Now for the very first time they have opened their own restaurant in Oxton Village . Its inky black modern exterior with full height windows presents an inviting , intimate , cool interior .
The upstairs ‘ Mexican Garden ’ dining room is beautifully fitted out with leather benches and mahogany panelling . For the first time they are able to offer a complete dining experience with a cool hip hop and American rock soundtrack , with a range of vibrant cocktails created to pair perfectly with the food by their master barman . The icing on the cake , as it always has been is their food , skilfully prepared by an exceptional team of chefs , from their now legendary smash patty burgers , to their authentic range of tacos that are considered the best outside of Mexico .
Theree is now an inclusion of a range of delicious ‘ small plates ’, from BBQ brisket burnt ends to mac & cheese croquettes is a nice touch . Oxton Village now has yet another great reason to visit this summer .
Opening Wednesday to Sunday at 11am with an great brunch menu , bookings are strongly advised via their website : www . lowslowanddough . com
Highly recommended .
