THE 9TH ANNUAL MAXI ROY ‘ NOBLE ART ’ MEMORIAL BOXING TOURNAMENT

Leasowe Castle Hotel was again the stunning venue for the 9th Annual Maxi Roy ‘ Noble Art ’ Memorial Boxing Tournament hosted by Wallasey Amateur Boxing Club on Friday 3rd March .
The historic location and grand architecture lent itself to the formal back tie charity sporting event . The evening of remembrance & friendship was opened with a sobering rendition of the last post played under the standard of the Special Boat Service Association . As always the quality of boxing was outstanding and the atmosphere nerve tingling as eleven contests of the highest calibre entertained an enthusiastic audience . All boxers displaying outstanding skills determination , sportsmanship , and camaraderie .
The Maxi Roy ‘ Noble Art ’ Best Boxer of the evening was presented to Sam Stott by the Ring Sponsor Paul Trickett of Bathgate Business Finance . The event was supported by several local businesses and community groups . The trophies were presented by a host of sponsors including DCP South Central , Erimus , Tranmere Rover & The Forshaw Group .
Wallasey ABC Chairman Liam Hanlon said , ‘ This is a very worthwhile and fulfilling event in bringing together several local businesses , charities , and community organisation in support of the valuable work being done by the club in engaging with the young people in our community through the fantastic sport of amateur boxing ’. The fundraising continued with raffle prizes donated by event sponsors and supporters from the Leasowe Castle Hotel . tri-4-life , The Forshaw Group Ltd and Wallasey ABC would like to thank the many sponsors and supporters for their kind support to host the show ."
The entertainment carried on into the early hours with quality songs from top Radio Presenter Roy Basnett . Wallasey ABC would like to thank everyone involved for their support in delivering an exceptional show in strengthening all that is great about our sport , club , and community .
