IN BRIEF
LEGAL EAGLES TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR STICK ‘ N ’ STEP FAMILIES
LOCAL HISTORY TALKS PUT THE SPOTLIGHT ON WIRRAL
Cammell Laird ' s Shipyard , Birkenhead Priory , The Great War , and Wirral Country Park are just some of the subjects for a series of fascinating historical talks about Wirral taking place over the forthcoming weeks at Williamson Art Gallery and various libraries around Wirral .
Dr Stephen Roberts , Director of Wirral Archaeology , will be delivering a number of the talks . He said : ‘ The need to study history has never been greater – particularly so for the people of Wirral . I invite all the residents of this remarkable peninsula to be challenged , fascinated , educated and empowered by the study of its history ’.
Cerebral palsy charity Stick ‘ n ’ Step has set up a legal support panel to provide support and advice to families of young people who attend the charity ’ s centres in Wallasey .
The panel consists of lawyers from three law firms , Graystons Solicitors , Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and Slater and Gordon Lawyers .
Amy Couture , CEO of Stick ‘ n ’ Step , said ,
“ We have always prioritised supporting the whole family of any child or young person who attends Stick ‘ n ’ Step . Creating a legal panel of approved lawyers to whom they can turn for guidance on a host of issues , from writing wills to buying or selling property or any kind of legal advice was a logical next step for us . We really appreciate the specialist support of all these three firms .”
Stick ‘ n ’ Step provides free weekly conductive education sessions to children and young people with cerebral palsy up to the age of 25 , allowing them to gain the skills they need to live more independent lives .
The charity relies on supporters and volunteers to help raise the £ 750,000 required to deliver its services to over 100 families each year at its Wallasey and Runcorn centres . Find out more about the charity by visiting www . sticknstep . org .
