NEW YEAR, NEW HAIR

BY ANDREW COLLINGE
If you’ re struggling to shake off the January blues, a new look could be just what you need to get yourself into gear.
New Year, New Cut For those adventurous enough to make a dramatic change in length, there are a number of shorter styles that are worth considering this January. This Autumn / Winter we’ ve seen textured styles dominate the catwalks and many of the shorter styles on show have been layered to give extra body. If opting for a classic short cut, consider keeping the cut feminine with plenty of layers and length through the fringe.
If you’ re hesitant to dramatically alter your hair length, the bob or long bob( lob) is a great way to gradually move towards a shorter style. This versatile cut is easy to keep and will give you just enough length to tie the hair back from the face if need be.
New Year, New Colour If changing colour is on your wish-list this year, you should consider some research beforehand. Whilst you may fancy changing your hair from a deep brown to bleach blonde, the possibility of an instant transformation may not always be possible. Booking a consultation with a stylist at Andrew Collinge will allow you to discuss the colour process. A quick evaluation of skin tone and colouring is free at any salon and will enable a stylist to recommend a shade that works for you.
If a style overhaul isn’ t on your new year’ s agenda, then why not treat your hair to some winter maintenance. Winter can easily take its toll on our hair and dried out cuticles and split ends are just two of the common problems that can cause damage. A fresh cut will rejuvenate any hairstyle adding volume and bounce to outgrown cuts, whilst an in-salon conditioning treatment will quickly bring life back to lacklustre hair. If your hair is dry and prone to split ends, CO by Andrew Collinge Hair Moisturiser is perfect. Use it like a leave-in conditioner before blow-drying and between shampoos.
If you’ re unsure about which hairstyle would suit you, drop into any Andrew Collinge salon for a free consultation with one of our stylists.
