W SOCIETY L TRI 4 LIFE PRESENTATION DINNER It’s been a year of special significance for the Tri- 4-Life charitable organisation team. The success of their challenges range from the hurricane torn British Virgin Islands, community events with Wallasey Amateur Boxing Club, The Brett Jones 10K, to Steve McHugh’s and David Loughlin’s Channel Swim. The Tri-4-Life team also returned to their original celebration venue, 18 years on from their first team celebration in the year 2000 with the Across Mersey Swim. They were also recognised by a special visit from HRH The Princess Royal and picked up awards at the Wirral Life Awards ceremony. The Across Mersey Swim will now be profiled as a showcase event at part of next year’s Liverpool River Festival in bridging the city regions from the Pier Head landing stage to Monks Ferry. It is now recognised as an outstanding contribution to Leisure & Tourism in raising the international profile of this Mighty River and the communities that surround it. Tri-4-Life event director Liam Hanlon congratulated everyone on an amazing year of outstanding commitment, performance & achievement. wirrallife.com 93
