SUMMER POPS
Once again Wirral Life Magazine was delighted to accept an invite from promoter Pez Tellett to attend another Summer Pops at the beautiful setting of the Neston Club in Parkgate on the Banks of the River Dee .
Set inside a fabulous marquee with five star sound , lighting and most importantly bar ! An event that is now established as one of the most prestigious Live Music events on the Wirral once again delivered a night of first class entertainment from some stellar performers . The evening began with Holly Anne performing tracks from her new album “ Years ” including the very popular single release “ Carry on ”. Holly was followed by Hoylake band By The Sea led by lead singer Liam Power with his entrancing vocals . With a publishing deal with Indie Powerhouse Domino , the boys are going from strength to strength with the release of their second album Endless Days , Crystal Sky many of which tracks were performed on the Night .
Wirral sensation Zuzu then enraptured the crowd as only she can with an amazing demonstration of musicianship combined with her own unique wit which had the crowd spellbound . Zuzu ’ s debut album Queensway Tunnel has been widely acclaimed and has seen her recently support The Red Rum club and embark on her own national Tour .
Needing no introduction , 80 ’ s sensations Hue and Cry topped the night off with their own individual brilliance , brothers Pat and Greg Kane have performed with many household names over the years including the likes of U2 , Madonna and James Brown and are due to embark on a national Tour with Simple Minds . They have honed their talent over the decades to perfection , performing the huge hits Looking for Linda , Labour of Love , Ordinary Angel here as well as other hits accumulated along the way . Pat ’ s rich Glaswegian vocal tones get better and better with age and brother Greg agreed that his performance at Summer Pops was one of his best yet ! In fact the boys loved the area and reception they received so much they intend to return socially in the near future .
So well done again Pez Tellett and all the Summer Pops Team for an exceptional night of first class entertainment . We can ’ t wait for the next one … See you there !
