MAKING PLANS!

Our annual Summer break has ended and we’re back
refreshed and ready to serve.
I’ve been delighted with the many positive messages that
have been posted on the social channels about our decision
to take a Summer break. It was a decision I made when I first
opened The Art School. I felt it was important for all of the
staff to have a total close to recharge their batteries, we do the
same after the busy Christmas period in early January.
I know many of you will be returning from, or about to go
on your own Summer holiday in the coming weeks, for those
still to travel, enjoy your break. For me, my own Summer
break always signals the start of the next new chapter for
the restaurant. Later this month it will be five years since I
opened The Art School and, in late September, one year since
The Cellars opened.
I can’t quite believe this will be our fifth year. I’m delighted
with the progress that we have made and how far the city
has developed, from a culinary prospective, in that period
of time.
I’m often asked how I measure our progress, obviously
review sites provide one indication, the number of
