W L NELSON HOTELS UNVEILS BRAND NEW RESTAURANT Thursday 19th July saw the glittering launch of the newest venue to hit Cheshire, the Palm Court Restaurant, Bar & Piano Lounge, at The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa in Chester. The celebrations featured performances from ITV’s The Voice 2018 finalists Belle Voci and acclaimed pianist Chris Turner who tinkled the ivories on the focal Yamaha Baby Grand Piano. Belle Voci’s Emily and Sophie performed some of the numbers they became known for on The Voice, including ‘SkyFall’ and ‘The Flower Duet’. Chris treated guests to some well-known favourites including ‘She’s Always a Woman’ and ‘Your Song’, with vocal, piano and saxophone performances. Chris has taken a hands-on role in preparing the Palm Court to deliver the best acoustics possible, and is looking forward to performing there frequently, saying “I’ve played all over Britain and I’ve never seen a set up like this – the time, money and effort gone into it is fantastic – simply marvellous”. Chris will be playing at the Palm Court on a regular basis. The 200 guests enjoyed a selection of canapés sampling the Palm Court evening menu, including dishes such as Cured and Confit Trout with Crab Rillettes, and Whipped Goat’s Cheese Bon Bon. Accompanying these culinary delights was champagne from Laurent-Perrier and an exclusive Nelson’s Gin cocktail. The new 180-cover restaurant, designed by Lister Carter seamlessly integrates a leafy tropical garden with a stylish, modern décor. Double-height glass ceilings give an airy, spacious feel, with bubbling fountains bringing the outside in and creating a relaxing dining experience. Guests enjoying the festivities included Gogglebox’s Eve Woerdenweber, Izzy Grey of We Love Cheshire and Nathan Morris who plays Milo Entwistle in Hollyoaks. Nathan said of the event “It’s been a fantastic night. The restaurant is amazing and its been a special treat to see Belle Voci perform. I’m looking forward to coming back with a few mates from the show”. Speaking from the exclusive Laurent-Perrier wine cave, MD Sue Nelson said of the launch “It’s been a brilliant event with many of our valued customers and suppliers attending to show support for our newest venture. This has been 7-months in the making and we are very excited to officially open our doors to the public for the first time”. Last night’s launch was by invitation only, but from today the Palm Court Restaurant, Bar & Piano Lounge is open to the public. Palm Court Restaurant, Bar & Piano Lounge will be open seven days a week, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, as well as cocktails, speciality teas and coffees, healthy smoothies and light bites every Monday through to Saturday, and the Grosvenor Pulford’s renowned roast carvery on Sundays.
