NESTON CRICKET
CLUB MARQUEE
WEEK 2017
Cricket legend Michael Vaughan was the guest speaker at
the recent Neston Sporting Lunch, with comedian Mark
Dolan providing the entertainment. Club President
Tony Bush, welcomed the 600 guests and introduced
them to five junior representatives of each sport played
at Neston, which the lunch was raising funds for and
highlighting The Shrimp Appeal, which assists young,
local, talented girls and boys to be members and receive
coaching for free. Michael Vaughan then did a Q&A,
which of course covered the famous Ashes victory and
post celebrations with Freddie Flintoff of 2005!
General Manager Craig Stubbs, Assistant Manager Kat
Hussey and Bar Manager Nick Morrison served Laurent
Perrier Champagne and Liverpool Gin to the guests
during the three course meal served by Cheeky Chilli -
they all worked very hard on the day and into the night
to make it such a memorable and successful event. The
Main Sponsor, Intellectual Property experts Forrester’s
and Associate Sponsors Mitchell Group – Lexus, Mazda
and Skoda, Philip Bates, Chartered Accountants all had
a great day with their guests.
The following night The Parkgate Proms, sponsored by
Lees Solicitors, had 400 guests entertained by L’Orchestra
Dell’ Arte, with conductor Edward Peak, Tenor Nicholas
Hardy and the 32 piece orchestra playing us around the
world with their music. The next day Neston hosted The
Summer Ball, sponsored by Eden Luxury Travel and 350
guests danced the night away after a three course meal
by Cheeky Chilli, who over the weekend did 1100 covers
from a small tent, one end of the bigger and lighter
marquee. Visit www.nestoncricketclub.co.uk for more
