W L NORTHCOTE by Carl Housbey It’s gloriously sunny outside, and I’m trying to write this month’s article, but I keep daydreaming about sitting on the terrace at Northcote drinking a glass of chilled Louis Roederer Champagne whilst nibbling on some delicious canapés. Northcote is a 19th century manor house that was once home to a Lancashire textile baron, which for the last 30 years or so has been run as a luxury hotel and fine dining restaurant by Chef Patron Nigel Haworth and his business partner Craig Bancroft. Nigel will be a familiar face to many of you, due to his numerous TV appearances on Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen, where you see him create fantastic dishes using ingredients available from his native Lancashire. Craig, although less well known to the public, is a legend within the Hospitality Industry and is currently Hotelier of the Year 2016, and Hotel Personality of the Year 2017. It’s testament to the hard work of everyone involved that Northcote has consistently held a Michelin Star for over 20 years. These days responsibility for retaining that star lies i
