GREASE IS THE WORD
Grease was the word recently at Birkenhead School when Bushell Hall was transformed into Rydell High and back to the 1950s for the musical production of ‘ Grease ’. Students performed the high-energy , rock n ’ roll high school musical to sell-out audiences over a twoweek period . Students from Seniors took to the stage as ‘ T-Birds ’ and ‘ Pink-Ladies ’ to sing the classics such as ‘ Greased Lightning ’ and ‘ Summer Nights ’.
Birkenhead School ’ s music productions are renowned within the School and wider community for their quality and professionalism , with many months of hardwork and dedication , going in to make each show surpass expectations . Students are given opportunities to take on roles on the stage performing as well as back-stage , assisting and leading on other aspects such as light and sound , or playing in the School orchestra . Students from years 7 to 9 will be performing ‘ Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat ’ and year 6 will be performing ‘ Hoodwinked ’, the Robin Hood musical as part of the School ’ s ‘ Birkonian Week ’ celebrations at the end of June .
