TRANMERE ROVERS ' MORE THAN A LOTTERY ' - TURN YOUR LOTTERY TICKETS INTO COMMUNITY TICKETS

The National Lottery , now the Lotto , really caught the public ’ s imagination when it was launched in 1994 .
Choose six numbers , win many millions , and help some really important and worthwhile causes .
As a government-led initiative it has proved to be one of the most popular additions to our daily lives and has since been followed by many other organisations and charities .
The link to supporting sport has always been very strong , and the Lotto itself has helped create the opportunity for both high profile Olympians and grass roots heroes to excel .
Last year , our very own Tranmere Rovers launched their MORE THAN A LOTTERY . Proving very popular amongst fans , this has already supported many local community activities and the club is now intending to have as its focus the Community Tickets Scheme run by its charity , Tranmere Rovers in the Community .
This is a fan-led initiative designed to support the aim of giving both young fans and those from a less advantaged background the opportunity to watch live professional football .
The MORE THAN A LOTTERY will use its fundraising to purchase season tickets and offer them to these groups and help underpin other socially responsible activities that the club provides across the Wirral .
During the last 6 seasons over 23,500 people have been able to attend a game through this initiative and this season over 3,000 children or vulnerable people have been able to attend a game they otherwise would not have been able to .
Mark Palios , club Chairman , highlighted , “ To me , our club is all about community and family . It ’ s essential that we lead where we can in engaging with and supporting our local community .
“ Our profile allows us to do this and helps us galvanise support to help those who need it . I ’ m delighted that we will now be channelling our successful MORE THAN A LOTTERY to help even more young people see live football , often for the first time .
“ The lottery is very easy to join and I hope to see much support for our initiative and would like to thank everyone for becoming involved .”
