GETTING BACK TO BUSINESS
We know it has been an incredibly difficult period for businesses . Thank you to those who ’ ve been able to stay open , for keeping going ; thank you to those who ’ ve adapted and developed to find new ways to reach customers ; thank you to those who ’ ve been patiently waiting for their time to reopen . It has not been easy . As we follow the ‘ roadmap ’ we can look to the future with increased optimism , including re-opening the local economy and getting back to business .
REOPENING SAFELY
If your business has been closed during lockdown you will need to make sure you welcome staff and customers back safely . Lots of information including signs and posters to download and print are available from Wirral Council ' s “ Keeping your Business COVID-secure ” Toolkit at : www . wirral . gov . uk / businesstoolkit .
Here are a few things to consider :
1 . Before reopening your doors
• Check for signs of pests such as rats , mice or cockroaches . If you think your premises might have pests , contact a pest control technician for appropriate treatment and advice .
• Check the water system for stagnant water to prevent the risk of Legionnaire ’ s disease .
2 . Cleaning & hygiene procedures
• Implement regular cleaning protocols with touch points ( e . g . handles , baskets , debit card PIN pads ) a particular area of focus for increased cleaning .
• Provide hand sanitisers ( with a minimum alcohol content of 60 +%) at entrances and exits .
• Display signs to build awareness of the importance of handwashing .
3 . Social distancing
• Display posters to promote social distancing and good hygiene .
• Enforce wearing of face coverings .
• Display clear markings on floors to help maintain social distancing , especially in areas where there is likely to be queuing .
• Use posters to remind customers and staff to maintain social distancing .
As you reopen please make the most of the testing that is available in Wirral to keep you , your staff and customers safe . Encourage your staff to get tested at our symptom-free testing centres , use symptom-free testing kits at home or you can order them for use in the workplace . If any of your staff test positive support them to self-isolate immediately to break the chain of infection and Keep Wirral Well .
TEST AND TRACE SERVICE
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 , Wirral Council ’ s Test and Trace team will contact you . They will give you advice and ask for details of anyone you ’ ve been in contact with . The local team will also check if you need support whilst self-isolating and signpost you to appropriate local services . The team will only call you from a local 0151 number .
Wirral Council Test and Trace service will not :
• Ask for bank details or payments
• Ask for details of any other accounts , such as social media
• Ask you to set up a password or PIN number over the phone
• Ask you to call a premium rate number , such as those starting 09 or 087
You will be asked :
• Your name , date of birth and postcode
• If you live with other people
• Any places you have been recently , such as a workplace or school
• Names and contact details of any people you were in close contact with in the 48 hours before your symptoms started .
