“COME TOGETHER, RIGHT NOW,
(BUT STAY TWO METRES APART)”
Peter Moore and the Fab Four have helped share joy in
support of Arrowe Park during Coronavirus…
Liverpool FC Chief Executive, Peter and his wife Debbie said:
"We are the fortunate temporary custodians of the Fab Four
statues, and we brought them out to our gates to bring smiles to
the faces of passers by, and to also acknowledge the incredible,
tireless work of our NHS heroes.
"Of course, we used the lure of the statues to also deliver a
message of support for the fantastic NHS staff around the
country who are performing heroic work under the most trying
of circumstances.
"We were inspired by the Governor of New York, Andrew
Cuomo, who said "Find ways to make a little joy." His state is
at the epicentre of the COVID-19 crisis in the US, and he is
becoming a beacon of leadership during these troubled times. "The theme was “Come Together, Right Now, (but stay two
metres apart )” which we felt was not only appropriate but also
inspirational for all of us battling through this unprecedented
event in our country’s history. Each and every one of us can do
our bit to support those who are supporting us right now; from
as simple as standing at your doorstep and applauding their
bravery and sacrifice, to making financial donations to the local
NHS Trust that services your community.
"So we found a way to make a little joy. The statues are resin,
and were created from the moulds of the original statues on the
Liverpool waterfront. Sculpted by the incredibly talented Andy
Edwards, the statues have become one of the most photographed
symbols for those visiting the city, and the lads of course are
often credited with putting Liverpool on the global map in their
heyday back in the 60’s. "We are so fortunate to have Arrowe Park available to so many
of us here on the Wirral, and of course this amazing facility has
been at the forefront of this battle since the early days when it
became the hospital that accepted quarantined British citizens
that had flown in from China. The staff there have been on the
front lines for many weeks, and are fully deserving of any form
of support we as grateful locals can provide.
"The Fab 4 have been out on three separate days over the past
week, a number of people have stopped by during their daily
exercise and have taken photographs. What has been particularly
heartening is listening to mums and dads explain who John,
Paul, George and Ringo are, their individual roles within the
group, and how their lives have transpired since the heady 60’s.
Always a little sad to hear John’s death explained… "As those of us that live here on Merseyside know better than
most, at the end of a storm, there’s a golden sky. We can’t pretend
that the worst of the storm isn’t yet to come, but by exercising
common sense and heeding the government’s guidelines, we can
get though this. In the meantime, find ways to make a little joy."
