Ethel and Earl
Earl was in the Nursery looking over some
flower baskets and he was trying to decide
which arrangement to get his wife.
Noticing his hesitation, the woman working
at the florist’s shop, pointed to the flower
pot in front of Earl and said, “That’s a nice
plant right there, is this for a birthday gift,
perhaps?”
“No not really, my wife and I had an argument,”
He admitted. “and I was a bit of a jerk, So I
wanted to get her some flowers so everything
will be Ok.”
“In that case.” the lady responded,
“You should buy her a dozen of the small
potted roses over there for only $5.99 each.
Earl said, “Nah, I wasn’t
that big of a jerk.”
