Ethel and Earl
Earl had been sick for several weeks , with a back to back run of different ailments . His wife , Ethel , has been by his side every single time . One day , when he was feeling a little better , he motioned for her to come nearer .
As she sat by him , he whispered , eyes getting a little misty , " You know what ? You have been with me through all these bad times . When I got food poisoning , you were there to support me . When we were at the park and I sprained my knee , you were there with me . When I gave myself a hernia moving the sofa , you were by my side . When I hit my head and had a concussion , while putting up the wall paper for you , you stayed right here . Through all this , you have been right there with me ... You know what ?"
" What dear ," she gently asked , smiling as her heart began to fill with warmth .
Earl whispered , " I think you ' re bad luck ....."
