Ethel and Earl
Ethel has been given a lead-solo in the
annual “Senior Sing” at her church.
Naturally, she has been practicing a
great deal lately, but she has noticed
that when she starts to practice, Earl,
goes and sits on the front porch.
Ethel, finally mustering up the courage,
and with hurt feeling, she says to Earl,
“You hate my singing so badly that you
can’t even be in the house while I
practice?”
Earl said, “Ahh Honey, you know I love
your singing, It’s just that I
want to make sure that the
neighbors know I am not in
here beating you.”
