Happy New Year everyone!
2019. Pretty amazing huh? Back when I was a youngster, I would have looked at the year 20..anything and
figured we'd be getting around in flying cars! I'm kinda glad we aren't actually; Navigating the Circle in regular
cars is challenging enough!
Well, it's January and it's time to make our resolutions! There are the regular resolutions like working out and
eating better, but how about going to the dentist?
We spend most of our time in this section of the magazine discussing particular problems and today's solutions.
A very common thing for people to do is to not think about their health when everything seems to be going well.
For denture wearers especially, when nothing is loose or sore, it's a distant thought to go to the dental office for
routine check-ups. Unfortunately, most people figure that without teeth, the likelihood of having mouth problems
is next to none.
When a denture wearer comes into the office for a check-up, the denture is ultrasonically cleaned, checked for
damage and verified that it fits well. The mouth is also checked for sores, oral cancer, or any other changes that
could affect your health. Taking it a bit further, every three years, a full view X-ray is taken to look at the region
for cysts, tumors or any other abnormalities.
So, if you are still trying to figure out a resolution for the New Year, make it a goal to visit your dentist annually
for a denture check up!
