Niehoff and NENA at Interwire 2017 Cutting Edge Technology, Efficiency and Superior Service & Support Maschinenfabrik Niehoff and its subsidiary Niehoff Endex North America, Inc. (NENA) will be exhibiting at the Interwire 2017 trade fair on booth 841 • an MMH 121 + RM 201 multiwire drawing line, • a D 801 type double-twist bunching machine with an ARH 800 pay-off, • and a BMV 16 braiding machine. Description of the exhibits The multiwire drawing machine type MMH 121 is designed to draw simultaneously 24 wires with a finished diameter range of 0.16 mm (AWG 34) to 0.51 mm (AWG 24). The machine is combined with an inline annealer type RM 201 and can operate at speeds up to 40 m/s (7874 fpm). As the MMH machines are based on a modular principle, they can be built suitable for wires made from copper, aluminum, their alloys or other non-ferrous metals and ideally adapted to the specific customers’ requirements. In addition, the offerings of the After Sales Service and the Niehoff Original+ components will be showcased at the booth as well. The wires drawn on these machines exceed the most demanding specifications and processing requirements as far as physical properties and can be processed to multiwire bundles with outstanding characteristics. To date, more than 1,500 MMH lines are in operation world-wide. The D 801 type double twist machine is designed for bunching plated and bare wires or twisting insulated wires. The machine can be used to produce strands with 0.25 to 16.0 mm² (23…6 AWG) cross section and an infinitely variable lay length of 15 to 160 mm (0.6…6.3”). Insulated wire can be stranded up to an OD of 7.5 mm (0.3”). The maximum line speed is up to 5,000 tpm or 300 WN MAY 2017 32
