Names Dr. Andrew E. Smith
to Technical Director Role
Chroma Color Corporation has appointed Dr. Andrew
E. Smith as technical director for the Leominster and
Clinton color concentrate manufacturing locations.
As the technical director, Dr. Smith is
responsible for technical service, R&D, quality,
ISO and regulatory programs.

stated Tom Bolger, the chief executive officer of
Chroma Color Corporation.
Dr. Smith received his BS in Applied Science from
the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2006. In 2010,
Andrew earned a PhD in Materials Chemistry from
Oregon State University. Continuing his educational
pursuits, Dr. Smith earned an MBA in Innovation,
Change & Entrepreneurship from Xavier University
in 2018.
After receiving a doctorate in Materials Chemistry
in 2010, Dr. Smith joined the Shepherd Color
Company as an R&D Chemist investigating
disruptive pigment chemistries. In 2015, he
assumed responsibility for the analytical laboratory
and led a specialized business division in pigment
surface functionalization. In 2017, Dr. Smith
joined the Uniform Color Company as a Product
Engineering Manager where he was responsible for
the product development and improvement of color
masterbatches for North America.
