IWCS Announces New Senior Operations Manager IWCS, Inc., producer of the International Cable & Connectivity Symposium, announces the selection of Michelle Melsop, CMP, CEM, as senior operations manager. She will be learning the intricacies of IWCS by working with Patricia Hudak until year end, at which time Hudak, who has held the position for 25 years, will be retiring. Melsop comes to the position from the Plastics Industry Association where she was senior manager of conferences and logistics, orchestrating over 15 conferences of various sizes per year. Prior to that she was manager of events at the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). She obtained her certification in exhibition management (CEM) in 2012 and certified meeting planner (CMP) in 2013 and maintains them both. “Michelle brings 10 years of association meeting and event planning experience to the position and will be a great addition to the team,” said Dave Kiddoo, IWCS executive director. “With the overlap of the two managers, Pat and Michelle, we expect the transition to be smooth and provide for very strong and successful future for IWCS,” he continued. Melsop began the IWCS position in March by observing the operation of the second annual UL and IWCS International Cable & Connectivity Symposium in Shanghai, China, which she will be instrumental in organizing for 2019 and beyond. Michelle also contributed to the recent IWCS symposium committee meeting in April, where over 30 individuals from as many companies and several countries met to establish the program for the IWCS 2018 conference in Providence, Rhode Island. “I was very impressed with both the conference in China and the process of paper selection in the 8 WIRE NEWS June 2018 development of an outstanding program for the IWCS 2018 conference,” said Melsop. “I’m very excited to join the team,” she added, “and will work hard to continue the strong legacy of noteworthy customer service and conference support that Pat Hudak has provided for IWCS over the past 25 years“. The IWCS 2018 International Cable & Connectivity Symposium will be held in Providence, Rhode Island, on October 14-17, 2018. IWCS organizes the International Cable & Connectivity Symposium as the premier technology forum for the exchange of information about product, material and process innovation for cabling and connectivity solutions and for the development of industry professionals through education and scholarships. . www.iwcs.org
