Three Teknor Apex Facilities Receive
Vinyl Institute Awards for Worker
Safety and Environmental Excellence
The Vinyl Institute has presented three Teknor Apex Company
facilities with Safety and Environmental Awards for 2017.
The annual awards honor individual plants
operated in the United States and Canada
by manufacturers of PVC-related monomers,
resins, compounds, and plasticizers, based on
data compiled by an independent third party.
The Teknor Apex compounding plant in Pawtucket,
RI received an Environmental Excellence Award
from the Vinyl Institute for “an outstanding track
record for five consecutive years.” The performance is
measured in accordance with the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency’s National Emission Standards for
Hazardous Air Pollutants.
In addition, Teknor Apex received Safety
Performance Awards for its PVC / CPVC
compounding facility in Jamestown, NC, and its
plas ticizer additive plant in Brownsville, TN. The
awards honor facilities at which there were no OSHA-
recordable incidents during the year.
“We are proud to be honored by the Vinyl Institute,
whose awards program reflects our own commitment
at Teknor Apex to ensuring that working
conditions are safe and production processes are
environmentally responsible,” said Louis Cappucci,
senior vice president in charge of the vinyl and
plasticizer businesses.
