5 Benedicte, what is the history of Poison Ivy? How did you form? When? In 2005 my brother, who also play paintball, asked me if I had some friends who wanted to help at the Norwegian Masters. We needed some extra cash and were more than willing to help. This was the starting point for us; we formed an all-female team under Sniper Paintball. Originally, we were 11 girls, but now only four girls from that original group is still playing (Silje, Linn, Pia and myself). What has the team accomplished so far? Have you won any awards? What we have accomplished…? Well, 2013 has been a good year for us and we are proud of what we have accomplished. We started of the year with 2nd place in the Ladies Cup in Moscow and then 2nd place in division 2 at the Millennium Series in Bitburg . With no placing under 10th we were ranked as number 4 in division 2 this year, with the same score as the team who were ranked 3rd. What events have you played in? We usually play some Norwegian events ever year and occasionally we have played other events in Sweden and Denmark, but our focus for the last 7 or 8 years has been the bigger events around Europe. We have been playing the Millennium Series almost every year for the last 7 years. We attended the PSP back in 2009, NPPL Huntington Beach and CPS in 2012, and the Ladies Cup in 2013. We have also been lucky enough to play the World Cup Asia in Langkawi for the last 3 years. What is your personal favorite event to play? That’s a tough question, because they are all so good in different ways. I don’t think we have one favorite event… We just absolutely love travelling the world and meeting new people and we’re lucky enough to get to play paintball while doing so!
