WINTER 2020 Italian American Digest
Elenian Club Steps Up Positively

The Elenian Club is stepping up and positively moving forward as demonstrated here at our Officer Installation at Chateau Golf & Country Club Sunday , November 22,2020 . The beautiful view from the Les Nouvelles Room overlooking the golf course greeted both Elenian Officers and new Debutante members for afternoon tea to get acquainted , and continue our purpose of " Keeping our Italian Heritage Alive in New Orleans .”
The officers pictured understand the importance of their club ’ s longevity in an uncertain environment , and proudly recognize nearly 150 members in the club ’ s 86th year . The Red Rose is the Elenians ’ official flower . The anatomical parts of the rose were described during the installation ceremony , and symbolically compared to the respective roles of each new board position within the club .
Just as the Officers have roles , so do the member families , as they enjoyed tea to welcome the club ’ s newest members . Six Elenian families are presenting their next generation of Italian descendants ; Emily Barraco , Marché Beals , Kaylee Carracci , Grace Greco , Megan Deshotel and Elliena Ingraham . In addition , three families introduced beautiful Ladies-in-Waiting ; Emerson Chetta , Emery Dick , and Madison Montalbano . The Debutantes and Ladies-in- Waiting are eager to form friendships and incredible bonds rooted in their Italian heritage .
Elenians continue to foster these relationships over four generations by sharing Italian traditions through various cultural , social , educational , and philanthropic activities throughout the year . This year their philanthropy benefits ACCESS Pregnancy and Referral Centers .
