Instructor Spotlight
The Essentials on Essentrics’s Instructor, Julie Webster
Throughout her life, Julie Webster
has made nutrition and health her
focus. From owning and operating a
nutrition center at age 18 to teaching
neuromuscular therapy, she has amassed
a lifetime of knowledge from diverse
fields. Now she’s sharing that knowledge
with Napa’s citizens at her classes,
“Essentrics with Julie” and “Essentrics
Aging Backwards with Julie.”
Essentrics is a full-body, dynamic
workout based on the theories of
Miranda Esmonde-White. Esmonde-
White, host of PBS’s “Classical Stretch,”
created the exercise regimen in 1997,
drawing from tai chi and ballet to
encourage the creation of long, lean, and
flexible muscles.
Julie’s own experience with Essentrics
began after a friend’s recommendation.
She found the program impressive and
immediately became enamored with it,
quickly becoming a teacher. She is now
a Level 3 Certified Instructor (out of a
possible 4).
Teaching is not a new endeavor for Julie,
either. She graduated with honors from
Boulder College of Massage Therapy
in 1991, where she went on to teach the
neuromuscular therapy program while
also assisting in the anatomy department.
If the testimonies from her students are
any indication, her lifetime of study
has paid off. “Essentrics is an excellent
class and Julie Webster is an excellent
teacher,” said Nouria Harris. Rick Hayes
opined, “An excellent instructor, she
[Julie] encourages moving at your own
speed. I certainly recommend her class
to anyone.”
