If you catch yourself staring at the stars on a clear dark night, fascinated by the sky’s beauty, then this evening is for you! Join us for a presentation by Earl Downs, a JPL Solar System Ambassador, tour the Stokesville Observatory and look through the observatory telescope trained on some of the wonders of the universe. There will be no moon so the skies will be very dark for excellent deep sky observations. In partnership with the Shenandoah Valley Stargazers. Club members will have additional telescopes set up for those in attendance for viewing the night sky. Sign up early so you won’t be disappointed. Limited space! All ages. Saturday, March 21. Depart GHPG at 6pm. Price: $9. Register by: ASAP Dobie Mountain Hike Come enjoy one of the lesser known hikes right in our own backyard. It shares a parking area with Humpback Rocks! This 4 mile loop trail is a moderate hike, with elevation gains of approximately 1000 feet. The highlights include some great views of our own Rockfish Valley and an old plane wreckage. In partnership with Waynesboro Parks and Recreation. Trip Leader: Spencer Eavers. Ages 8+. 8-14 year olds must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a backpack, lunch, and water bottle.
