Interior Design…Where to Begin?
This introduction to interior design will help you get over
that hurdle of “where to begin?” Learn interior design basics
and start planning this winter. Bring photos and together we
will work on resolving and overcoming any of your design
fears from paint selection to tackling a large design project.

Dressmaking Workshop

The basics and fundamentals of dressmaking will be
demonstrated by the instructor. Participants will follow
along at their own workstation and bring sewing machine,
pattern and fabric they are interested in making a dress
out of. This class will review the basics of operating the
machine, laying out patterns, and cutting fabric. Depending
on time we may begin sewing the garment on the first day.
During the week between classes participants will work on
their dresses at home. The second class will be devoted to
helping participants complete their project. Participants must
supply their own sewing supplies and fabric (supply needs
provided upon registration). #5177 MHPA 10am–noon,

Not Your Average… Jewelry Making
At last! An opportunity to make jewelry no one else can.
This introduction to wire wrapped jewelry, will give your
artistic soul a voice! Not only will you be introduced to wire
wrapping, you’ll also make your own beads from cloth,
paper and high fired stoneware clay. Start your jewelry
journey today! Instructor: Mary Tuttle, whose jewelry can
be purchased at Virginia Made. #5178 NSC 6–8pm,
four Mondays starting February 23. Price: $37. Register
by: February 18. Participants will need to bring their own
round-nosed and needle-nosed jewelry pliers (pliers are at
Michael’s or Walmart). There is also a $5 supply fee for
beads and findings.
Pressed Petal Designs
Learn how to press botanicals from your garden and
create colorful designs using these pressed petals. Create
symmetrical art resembling kaleidoscope designs, mandalas
and quilt squares. Your original designs will be framed.
Unleash your creative side using affordable materials found
in your backyard! Petals, paper, and other tools will be
supplied. Students please bring a pair of small scissors

Classical Drawing Class w/ artist
Carmen Shenk
Learn the basic principles of drawing, technique and tips
on how to improve. Classes are structured with the first
half hour focusing on instructional skills training exercises
followed by an hour working on student’s individual projects
with guidance by instructor. Materials not included but
list available upon request. Classes held at geSHENKe
Gallery. Tuesdays 6–7:30pm, beginning January 6 and
runs through March 31. Price: $15/class. Please sign up

Paint w/ Dianne
Join Dianne for a fun day of learning how to paint! Create
beautiful blue Hydrangeas on an 11x14 canvas with oil
paints. This painting class is for beginners or the fun at
