Earth Day Staunton
Saturday, April 18 from 9am–noon. Celebrate Earth
Day with the entire family at Earth Day Staunton at the
Sunspots Pavilion parking lot, on Byers Street next to the
Staunton Farmer’s Market. Enjoy kid-oriented activities,
live native wildlife shows, a raffle, face painting, live
music, native plant sale, and more. Admission is free. In
the event of rain, Earth Day Staunton will be in the second

Gypsy Hill Spring Craft Show
Saturday, March 21 from 9am–1pm. It’s finally Spring!
Join us at the Gypsy Hill Park Gym and enjoy local art,
crafts and the many talents of those in our community.
Irish Road Bowling
Saturday, March 14 at Montgomery Hall Park. Join us for a
wee bit of fun as we host our first annual Irish Road Bowling
competition. This St. Patrick’s Day event is full of fun and
friendly competition with our own spin on the original game
played on the Irish country roads. Competition is comprised
of teams of 3 or 4 and will begin at their pre-set tee times
to ensure proper spacing, safety and integrity of the game.
Wearing Green and fun St. Patty’s day clothing/costume
is encouraged. Ceremonies and prizes following the event
held at local Queen City Brewing. Team entry fee: $20 for
a 3 person team, $25 for a 4 person team (includes event
t-shirts). $10 deposit for “bowl” ball *you may keep the
ball or return at the end for your deposit. Call the Parks &

Spring Plant Swap
Saturday, May 9 at Montgomery Hall Park Admin Building
Back by popular demand- the Staunton Parks & Recreation
Spring Plant Swap! Swap be will located at the lawn
area behind the Irene Givens Recreation Administration
building. Plant drop off & voucher assignment begins at
9am and continues until 10:45am. Swapping begins
promptly at 11am. Not sure how a plant swap works?
Bring in your annuals, perennials, small shrubs or trees,
houseplants, garden kitch, garden books. Parks staff will
assign a value to them and give you vouchers for that
value. When we begin, you may use your vouchers to
“purchase” new plants for your yard. We usually throw
in a few things from the city gardens as well. Come chat
with your fellow gardeners! No registration fee, enjoy
complimentary coffee & snacks as well as door prizes.

Youth & Senior Fishing Derby
Postponed till Fall 2015 due to Lake Tams renovation.
All Girl Conference
New format for the All Girl Conference! Each month from
October to May, we will hold workshops. Most workshops
will be held on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1–3pm
at various locations between Staunton, Waynesboro and
Augusta County. Workshops include a light lunch and
door prizes. Attend at least 4 of the 8 months to receive
entry into grand prize drawing and receive the 2015
AGC t-shirt in May! Pre-registration required for each
workshop (some require parent permission). Sign up for
