WHERE SHOULD I
LIVE ? Most people sign for a house in Kensington or Smithdown Road .
Kensington PROS
• Closer to university campus
• Nearer to the city centre
• Houses are often available to sign for later
• McDonald ' s in Kensington
CONS
• Not near to any big green spaces
• Can be harder to share lifts to placement with people
WHAT ' S A GOOD PRICE House prices range in these areas but you can get a good house for £ 90 bills included per person per week . This is a lot cheaper than halls so you ' ll be saving a lot of money when moving out ! There ' s a wide range of housing available but keep in mind that you don ' t have fork out a huge sum for a good quality house . If you need any advice drop myself or any other older year a message . We all know how stressful housing is so we ' re always happy to help !
SMITHDOWN PROS
• M any medics live on smithdown so sharing lifts to placement ( after coronas over ) will be easier
• Nearer to big parks like Sefton Park
• Closer to playing sports eg hockey , football and rugby
• Bigger houses
CONS
• Further from university
• Not close to train stations
WHO SHOULD I SIGN WITH ? Liverpool Student Homes are the university approved accomodation and renting from them gives you assurance that its up to the uni ' s standard . They release their homes on Dec 1st .
DO MOST PEOPLE LIVE WITH MEDICS ? Alice : It ' s really varied ! Live with whoever you feel comfy with ! Maddie : Living with at least one other medic is helpful so that you have someone to practice clin skills with with social distancing in play Katie : You have plenty of time to live medics once your other friends graduate Claud : I didn ' t live with medics until 4th year and found it was quite nice to come home and not talk about medicine constantly .
