Cultivating Green Thumbs While Learning About Jobs and Careers
Omega boys cultivated their green thumbs during their fall field trip to the New York Botanical Garden . During this adventure , they participated in a gardening workshop to discover the ways plants grow and change seasonally , and learned how to pot up edible plants to grow at home . They also took special interest in the jobs of the Garden ’ s educators and gardeners , and added these jobs to their Career Study books back in the classroom . This trip and related activities are part of the fall social studies “ Exploring Jobs and Careers ” unit , which culminates in a Career Fair .
