Metro ’ s Management , Accessibility
Paris ’ s metro management is decent , as there are clear signs for each route and their stations . Sometimes you may come across two different corridors in the hallway which both lead to different routes , but the signs on the wall are very helpful which guiding the way . However , from the outside on the streets , there is no big sign that tells you that the metro is located here . So for some time , it was hard to find how to get into the metro and where it was located . Not all tourist knows , that there are no elevators in the metro stations . There barely are escalators , other than that it ’ s all stairs , which means there is more walking . The metro has good management for tickets , as some tickets can give you access to all lines in one day , which is more expensive , but can be useful for a day when visiting all touristic places . As they all are on different lines . The underground system had 16 connected lines .
Things to Be Aware of
Comparison between Shanghai and Paris ’ s metro
Shanghai ’ s metro has a much more modern system than Paris . In Shanghai ’ s metro , you can use your phone to scan through the gate . In Paris , the majority of people use cards . The metro is also different , Shanghai ’ s metro station is more developed and modern . Paris ’ s metro station and the metro itself are old fashioned , which shows their uniqueness them . In Shanghai ’ s metro , there are elevators and escalators ; which is why there are elderly in the metro . However , in Paris ’ s metro station , there are no elevators and barely any escalators , mainly stairs , which shows why I didn ’ t see any elderly . So pack comfortable shoes !
Pickpockets : In the metro , especially in the summertime , be very careful with your belongings on the metro , as they can be stolen because there are a lot of pickpockets . In the metro , they have signs and even announce announcements to be aware of pickpockets .
Tickets : Getting wrong tickets , can lead you to a fine of ( 35 Euros ) per ticket . There is no exception even if you say the truth about getting the wrong ticket . Be aware that some metro stations have gates open where I saw some people walk right through without a ticket , but always buy tickets . That way if you encounter a police officer in the next station , you can directly show them the ticket .
Location of Station : Sometimes , some metro stations don ’ t have ticket machines . If there is not , look for a desk where staff might be sitting . If there are no staff or machines , then look for another train station nearby . Fake Tickets : When using the metro , always buy the tickets only from the machines . Some scammers try to sell you fake tickets , and if bought it can lead to a fine to be paid .

The Paris Metro was built in 1898 4th of October to develop the city ’ s growth . It expanded rapidly , becoming a crucial transit system with a fast way of getting around the city . Today , it consists of 16 lines and over 300 stations which consist the outside rail network , and major train routes .
