CH . 3 : Creativity
Books allow you to think deeply and creatively , because if there aren ’ t any visuals to help you , you would have to imagine the scene yourself . Even the most descriptive sentence about a character requires a lot of imagination . This actively engages your brain to create a unique world about the book to understand it better . In addition , books expose you to new information from others , allowing you to relax and safely explore those thoughts . It doesn ’ t matter if the book is a nonfiction or a sci-fi , you will still be bombarded with a ton of author ’ s words , opinions , ideas , and much more . This new information could cause your brain to try and connect some of these information with previously learnt ones , which enhances your creativity . Also , reading is very relaxing ( unless it is an extremely scary book ), and that allows you to have even more thoughts in the background while reading .
CH . 4 : Communication
Books can foster small communities , such as book clubs , where you can discuss certain topics from a book , and even make new friends with similar interests . If you don ’ t have that many friends , you could go to a nearby book club with a book that everyone has and interact with each other . Reading with each other and sharing interests could lead to friends who you could relate to .
CH . 5 : Physical Books Are Better !
Although you could read books digitally , that could damage your eyesight . Scientists say that staring at paper is better than staring at a screen , as paper reflects less light and is less likely to cause eye discomfort . Also , staring at a screen for a long time may lead to eye strain because of the blue light and possible flickering . Also , staring at a screen causes you to blink less often and widen your eyes , leading to dry eyes , which can cause eye fatigue and sometimes blurred vision . According to WebMD , 50 to 90 percent of computer users suffer from eye strain , arid eyes , blurred vision , and trouble focusing .
CH . 6 : Conclusion
In the modern world , books , especially physical ones , still matter no matter the genre . If you read books instead of doomscrolling on short form video apps , you could gain a huge amount of information and facts , enhanced creativity , and even some friends , without damaging your eyesight . Since we are all used to modern technology and digital things , I would suggest to still use them , but read physical books for at least 30 minutes to relax .
