PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
WINTER YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE
1st and 2nd grade basketball is designed as a lead-in to our grade school program . Practices and games will be held on Sundays only at Park Center or Attea . The first 2 weeks consist of a full hour of practice and the remaining weeks will follow a game schedule . Games will be refereed ; no scores will be kept . Season includes 10 weeks and team jersey . Continue skill building in our grade school league for 3-8th graders . Games take place on Saturdays at Park Center or Attea , with parents volunteering as coaches . Volunteer coaches are needed ! • Coaches will contact players about team placement and schedules .
• During registration indicate one day during the week you CANNOT practice . No requests are guaranteed .
• Once teams are formed , players will not be switched to other teams for any reason . Including if the coach changes practices days and / or times .
Practice Locations : Be prepared for one-hour practices , held once a week , and scheduled by the volunteer coach , at any one of the District 34 schools , as well as Washington , Avoca , Willowbrook and Winkelman . Season includes 9 weeks and team jersey .
Team Formation : Teams are designed primarily by school , however due to enrollment numbers , some schools may be split into multiple teams and up to 3 grades may be combined .
Refund Policy for Youth Leagues : Refunds will be granted less a 10 % cancellation fee until teams are formed . No refunds after teams have been distributed to coaches .
RECIPROCAL FRIENDSHIP REQUEST – 1ST AND 2ND GRADE ONLY
Suggested requests MUST be reciprocal and no requests are guaranteed . Requests for more than one friend OR requests that are not reciprocal will not be considered . In the instance where players are on the same team because parents are coaching together , additional requests cannot be made . Friendship Request can be made during the registration process and indicated in the notes or roster comments online . Requests can also be indicated in the household when registering in person .
