This October , the Illinois Association of Park Districts honored the park district and our community partners with two awards . The Intergovernmental Award was given to us on behalf of the Glenview / Northbrook Coronavirus Task Force . This award honored the incredible collaboration and coordination executed by our two communities throughout the Coronavirus pandemic . The task force consisted of the following members : Village of Glenview , Village of Northbrook , Northfield Township , Glenview Park District , Northbrook Park District , Northbrook School District 27 , Northbrook School District 28 , Northbrook / Glenview School District 30 , West Northfield School District 31 , Glenview Public School District 34 , Glenbrook High School District 225 , Glenview Public Library , Northbrook Public Library , Glenview and Northbrook Chamber of Commerce .
We were also honored to accept the Partnership Award for the Camp REC program , along with Wesley Child Care Center , Glenview School District 34 , Glenview Park Foundation , Glenview Public Library and Youth Services of Glenview / Northbrook . This program helped fill an essential need for working families , providing support to children navigating hybrid and remote school schedules .
Both of these awards highlight the strength and connection of our community . Glenview is a wonderful place to live in play , thanks to all of the wonderful community organizations , businesses and active volunteers and neighbors in our lives . Partnerships like these have helped us all to stay connected and tune in to serve the needs for our community as a whole .
